I’m looking forward to days in the mid-20s (Celsius) and reading on the apartment balcony or down by the pool while my kids go for a swim. We’ve tried to rebook it twice since then and each time either where we are or where we wanted to go, had an outbreak and went into a lockdown and state borders were closed. It’s a holiday we originally booked in late 20, before the world changed. It’s been pretty cold and miserable here in Melbourne (even by our standards) and I am so looking forward to the holiday we are taking in September, which will take us somewhere much warmer for two weeks. It’s about time to enrol for the second semester, which starts in three weeks, so I am in the midst of picking which classes I want to take. I even got a letter of commendation from the dean of the school my degree is attached to which was a huge confidence boost. I got my university results from my first semester back and was thrilled with my results.

It’s only short (6hrs) which is why I grabbed it – usually it takes me quite a while to get through an audiobook.

I’m listening to another audiobook now, which will probably be the first book I finish in August, through my library’s Borrow Box app. I also listened to my first audiobook in months after Audible lured me back with 2 months for 0.99c. I also fell into quite a sci-fi romance reading hole, which probably partially accounts for the number of books read, because a lot of them are pretty short. Only one 4.5-star read in July but I did have a lot of 4-star reads. July was another really good reading month for me, both in terms of books read and the quality.
